Altabank Donates Over $175,000 to Utah Nonprofits Supporting Critical Community Needs

American Fork, UT — Altabank™, a division of Glacier Bancorp and the largest community bank in Utah, demonstrated its ongoing commitment to supporting Utah communities this April with more than $175,000 in donations to nonprofit organizations across the state. These contributions were directed to organizations providing essential services in affordable housing, financial education, food security, mental health, and domestic victim support.

“These organizations are doing vital, on-the-ground work,” said Terry Grant, President of Altabank. “We believe it’s our responsibility as a community bank to step up and support the people and programs that keep our communities strong and resilient—especially during challenging times.”

The donations were distributed as follows:

  • CAPSA (Citizens Against Physical and Sexual Abuse) – $50,000
Based in Logan, CAPSA provides life-saving services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, including shelter, advocacy, and counseling. CAPSA recently issued a call for urgent support amid a nationwide funding crisis caused by recent executive orders that temporarily froze federal grant and loan disbursements. These freezes have critically impacted funding for domestic violence shelters and victim service programs. Altabank responded to that call with a significant $50,000 donation, helping CAPSA maintain its critical operations during this uncertain period.
  • Junior Achievement of Utah – $25,000
JA Utah delivers programs in financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship to students across the state, inspiring the next generation of leaders and innovators.
  • Dove Center – $25,000
Serving Washington and Kane Counties, the Dove Center offers shelter and advocacy for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence in southern Utah.
  • NeighborWorks Mountain Country Home Solutions – $18,750
Focused on affordable housing, NeighborWorks provides financial coaching, down payment assistance, and homebuyer education to help families achieve stable housing.
  • Friends of Switchpoint – $12,500
Operating in southern Utah, Switchpoint offers shelter, job training, and supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty.
  • The Refuge – $12,500
This nonprofit provides trauma-informed care and recovery programs for survivors of sexual and domestic violence in Utah County.
  • South Valley Sanctuary – $12,500
Located in South Jordan, the Sanctuary supports individuals and families escaping abuse through shelter, advocacy, and prevention education.
  • Habitat for Humanity – $8,750
This well-known nonprofit builds and repairs affordable housing in partnership with low-income families, helping them achieve homeownership and financial stability.
  • Cache Community Food Pantry – $6,250
Serving northern Utah, the pantry provides food assistance to individuals and families in need, helping to alleviate hunger and food insecurity.
  • Project Read – $6,250
This organization combats adult illiteracy by providing one-on-one tutoring and literacy education to adults, empowering them to improve their lives through reading and writing.

Supporting Financial Literacy

April is recognized nationally as Financial Literacy Month, a time to highlight the importance of financial education and the tools that help individuals make informed and effective decisions with their money. Altabank proudly supports organizations that promote financial empowerment, including Junior Achievement of Utah, NeighborWorks Mountain Country Home Solutions and domestic violence shelters like CAPSA. Through education programs that teach budgeting, credit management, saving, and investing, these organizations are helping individuals—especially youth and underserved populations—build a stronger financial future. Altabank’s contributions help expand the reach of these programs and reaffirm the bank’s commitment to long-term community development.

These donations come at a time when many nonprofits are facing increased demand and tighter funding. By supporting a diverse group of organizations statewide, Altabank aims to amplify the positive impact these nonprofits have in their communities.

“We understand that real change happens locally,” said Grant. “Whether it’s keeping families safe from violence, feeding children, or helping someone buy their first home, we’re proud to support the work of these organizations. Our communities are stronger when we stand together.”
